Join Southeast Parks and Rec at Thunder Ridge once again this coming winter for after-school and evening instructional ski & snowboard programs. Kids will learn the basics of either skiing or snowboarding with the fantastic instructors of the Thunder Ridge Snowsport School. We're gonna have fun like there's snow tomorrow!
SIGN UP PROCESS:
All ski and snowboard programs have a multiple-step registration process. After reading all instructions below completely, you will:
1) Decide which program you'd like to join and preliminarily register through our website using the portals below.
2) Once that is complete you will then be e-mailed a receipt which will contain a link to a separate Thunder Ridge registration portal.
3) You then need to visit that link to register with TR and complete the sign-up process. Your e-mail receipt will include a password to access the TR portal. NOTE: the Open Enrollment option will require an additional individualized code, separate from the website password, in order to complete registration on the TR website. That code will be e-mailed separately within 24 business hours of registration on our site.
These steps MUST be followed in order. REMINDER: you will not be able to register through Thunder Ridge until you have first signed up with us!
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY:
After school programs are open to children attending C.V. Starr Intermediate School and H.H. Wells Middle School only.
Evening "Open Enrollment" programs are available to anyone 8 and older. Registration is taken first come, first served, with limited availability.
For either of the above options, you must be REGISTERED with us using the portal below before you will be able to complete registration through the Thunder Ridge website.
PROGRAM DETAILS:
**Open Enrollment Program **
Choose your own day and time for your lessons! Unlike the CV Starr and HH Wells clubs, this program is not supervised by Parks and Recreation staff, thus registrants must be able to get to and from the mountain for their lessons where they'll be placed in groups with children from all around the area (not only BCSD children). Registrants will receive a code from Parks and Rec staff via e-mail in order to complete registration on the Thunder Ridge website. Choose "Open Enrollment" below, complete registration, and you will be e-mailed your code within 24 business hours.
** C.V. Starr Club **
Wednesdays: Jan 7, 14, 21, 28 Feb 11, 25
(Please note this program does not run on days there is no school or an early dismissal)
Children are bussed to Thunder Ridge immediately after school under the supervision of Southeast Parks & Rec staff. Parent pickup from Thunder Ridge is 7:30p.
** H.H. Wells Club **
Fridays: Jan 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb 6, 13
(Please note this program does not run on days there is no school or an early dismissal)
Children are bussed to Thunder Ridge immediately after school under the supervision of Southeast Parks & Rec staff. Parent pickup from Thunder Ridge is 7:00p.
SPECIFIC DETAILS FOR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS:
All after-school sessions will consist of a 1 hour to 1.5 hour lesson, dinner time at the lodge, and will conclude with free time on the slopes for all participants.
Please note that dinner is NOT provided and must be brought or purchased at Thunder Ridge.
If any parents wish to volunteer to be chaperons/supervisors please contact the Recreation office. Those interested in doing so must be able to ski or snowboard.
PROGRAM FEES:
Open Enrollment programs have a $20.00 Southeast Parks & Rec fee plus Thunder Ridge charges.
After-school programs have an $80.00 Southeast Parks & Rec Fee + Thunder Ridge charges.
Parks & Rec fees are payable during registration in the portals below. TR charges are payable to Thunder Ridge during the second step of registration on their website and are as follows:
TR charge for a child who has a season pass: $378.00
TR charge for a child without a season pass: $570.00
TR charge to add on equipment rentals: Add $168.00
